TAVARES, Fla. -- Lawrence Yetter, 95, passed away at his home in Florida on Tuesday, Nov. 9, 2010. Formerly of Newton, Lawrence was the previous owner of Yetter Oil Company, Yetter Farm Service, YetterÕs Diner (an icon and landmark of RossÕ Corner) and part-owner of the CulverÕs Lake Golf Club. He was a past exalted ruler of the Newton Elks Lodge and past president of BranchvilleÕs BusinessmenÕs Club. He also was an avid golfer and hunter.

He was predeceased by his wife of 70 years, Elizabeth, and his daughter, Sandra Smith.

Mr. Yetter is survived by his son, David and his wife, Diane, of Myrtle Beach, S.C.; three grandsons, David Smith and his wife, Janice, of Milford, Pa., Steven Smith and his wife, Marcia, of Branchville, and Mark Yetter and his wife, Melissa, of Greensboro, N.C.; and his great-grandchildren, Holly, Amanda, Olivia, Julianna, Mathew and Madison.

The family extends special thanks to Paula Trease, caregiver and friend to Lawrence for the past 10 years. Her medical expertise and devotion to him was truly outstanding and greatly appreciated.

A private family ceremony will be held at the Newton Cemetery.

Van Horn, Baleville, and Alvan Van Horn, Dover; three sisters, Mrs. Esta Titman, Baleville; Mrs. William S. Howell, Lafayette, and Mrs. Barrett Cumminse, Myrtle Grove and three grandchildren.
