Otto D. Kleis, 67, of 2316 W. Sugar River Rd., Gladwin, died Tuesday, Aug. 10, at the Gladwin Area Hospital.
Born in Gladwin on July 4, 1915, he attended Oberlin schools and moved to Detroit in 1936. He was employed at the Hudson Motor Car Co. for 19 years and then at General Motors Tech Center in Warren for 19 years as a metallurgist. He retired in 1974 and moved back to Gladwin County in 1977.
Mr. Kleis married Esther Snover on September 13, 1941, in Skeels.
Besides his wife, he is survived by 2 daughters, Mrs. Sharon Boothe of Oxford and Mrs. Joseph (Donna) Gretka of Leonard; 3 sisters, Mrs. Agnes Hell of Florida, Mrs. Helen Kleinfeld of Cleveland and Mrs. Florence Alter of Mt. Clemens; 3 brothers, William of Florida, Alvin of Gladwin and Harold of Detroit.
Services were held Friday at 1 p.m. from the Mathews Funeral Home. The Rev. Carl Briggs officiated and burial was in the Butman Cemetery. Gladwin County Record dated 8-18/1982

Bertha Mae was born January 10, 1936 in Weston, PA, a daughter of the late August and Ethel (Sargent) Mosier. She was married to Earl W. Bull, Sr. for 29 years before his passing on Aug. 29, 1985. Bertha was of the Baptist faith. She was happiest while having her family around and always looked forward to good times they shared. Bertha will be remembered as a hard worker and strong-willed person. No one left her home hungry. She possessed a big heart; always ready to help others and she never said no. She was an avid bowler and also enjoyed knitting and crocheting. In earlier years, Bertha was a great help working on the family dairy farm near Windfall.
Surviving are her children; Cathy (Larry) Chaapel, LaMar (Karen) Bull, Tim (Vicki) Bull all of Canton and Shane (Cristin) Bull of Sayre, many grandchildren, great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to her husband Earl, she was predeceased by children; Nora Kay in 1963, Earl Jr. in 1970, and Wayne in 1986, also several siblings.
Calling hours are 12 - 1:30 P.M. Thursday, June 28, at Pepper Funeral Home & Cremation Facility, 578 Springbrook Dr. in Canton. Rev. Duane Taylor will officiate the funeral service at 1:30 P.M. Gerald “Gary” Snover was born Dec. 26, 1951, in Tacoma, Wash. He died Friday, Nov. 6, 2009, in Veterans Medical Center in Fayetteville.
Gary proudly served in Vietnam as a combat medic as a member of the United States Army.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, Nov. 10, 2009, at the Fayetteville National Cemetery.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Chuck Snover and Dorthy Myers, and a sister, Connie Heights.
He is survived by two sons, Ryan Agnew and Jesse Snover; as well as three daughters, Tanya Norris, Terra Reed and Tasha Davis. He also had 10 grandchildren.
He will be missed.

Douglas Glenn Groves, loving father, brother, son and friend, passed away peacefully at his home on Aug. 5.
He was the first baby born in Port Angeles on Jan. 1, 1978.
He was always surrounded by love of family and friends during his far too brief stay here on Earth.
Doug had a love of design and construction, which culminated in his recent partnership to create Tweter-Groves Construction.
He was well-known in the community for his spontaneity and sense of adventure, which opened many doors throughout his lifetime.
Doug"s primary focus of his life was his son, Landon, 9 years old.
Written by his son, "He liked to play football and basketball with me. We also played video games, watched TV, and went to the movies together. He was a carpenter and he built houses."
Doug would always want Landon to remember and know how much his Daddy loves him.
Doug will always be remembered for his strong character that gave him many friends and a bond with family that is insurmountable.
His love of adventure led him on many exciting pathways that included travel, fishing, Jet Skiing and any other opportunity that was available.
Doug is survived by his son, Landon; his parents, Ted and Debbie Groves of Port Angeles; sister, Tanya Groves of Port Angeles; sister, Tearra Morten of Spokane, Washington; sister, Debbie Baker of Prineville, Oregon; and sister, Sunnie Schultz of Springfield, Oregon.
We will all miss Doug dearly, but may be able to gain some peace with the thought he is on another adventure.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Operation Uplift Cancer Support, P.O. Box 547, Port Angeles, WA 98362, in Doug's name.
Services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, August 11, at Harper-Ridgeview Funeral Chapel with memorial following immediately at his Grandpa's.

Bonnie Mae Duhr, 67, died from natural causes on Sept. 26, 2010, at her home in Anchorage.
Memorial services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Evergreen Memorial Chapel, 737 E St. A reception will be held afterward at Zan and Todd Plumhoff's residence, 10132 Voyager Circle.
Bonnie was born April 11, 1943, in Tacoma, Wash.
She moved to Anchorage in 1972 and was a longtime employee of the Municipal Light and Power Co. as an accounting supervisor. She retired in 1998.
She married Don Duhr on July 24, 1993. Bonnie and Don both enjoyed traveling, including trips to South Africa and New Zealand on hunting adventures. Bonnie loved her two puppies, Krystal and Sterling. Her joy also came from visiting family and friends, and spending time with her grandchildren.
The loving mother, wife and grandmother is survived by her children, T.C. Sullivan and his wife Valerie of Seattle and Michelle Fritz and her husband Michael of Anchorage. Bonnie also has two surviving brothers, Chuck Snover of Gardiner, Mont., and Walt R. Snover and his wife Polly of Mesquite, Nev. Her life was blessed with six wonderful grandchildren, Briana and Wilson Sullivan, Ashlie Rookus, Dustin Fritz, and Elyssa and Cale Warnecke.
Bonnie was preceded in death by her mother, Dorothy Snover; father, Everett C. Snover; sister, Connie Hites; and brother, Gary Snover.
Her family wrote: "Bonnie's courage and determination in life was a constant inspiration to her family and friends. She was a heart transplant recipient in 1999. This gift gave her additional time and loving years with her family by her side. God takes the flowers when they are most beautiful."
