HOLLAND TOWNSHIP, NJ - Pearl J. Tange, 90, of Holland Township, NJ passed away on Tuesday December 6, 2011 at the Hunterdon Care Center in Raritan Township, NJ.

Born December 26, 1920 in Upper Black Eddy, PA, Pearl lived in Erwinna, PA and Frenchtown, NJ before moving to Holland Township in 1954. In addition to being a home-maker, she worked as an inspector at Plessy Corp. in Frenchtown, NJ. Prior to that, she worked at Kerrs Hatchery, also in Frenchtown. She volunteered at the Hunterdon Humane Society in Milford, NJ. She was a dog lover, who also loved plants. She will be dearly missed by her beloved family.

Daughter of the late Jacob and Ruth Hillpot Frankenfield, Pearl is survived by her son Leigh Tange, of Sioux Falls, SD, and his wife Pat, daughter Janet Auterson, of Salem OR, brother Chet Frankenfield, three sisters Esther Carver and Jane Gordon, of Milford, NJ, and Jeanne Shirk, four grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband Holgar Tange in 1966, and three sisters, Olive Strauss, Ida Mae Sutphin and Pauline Serfass.

Funeral services will be private. Arrangements are under the care of the Johnson-Walton Funeral Home, Milford, NJ.

Born in Erwinna, Pa. on Aug. 16, 1924, she was a daughter of Jacob and Ruth Hillpot Frankenfield. She had resided in the Flemington area for 64 years.

She was a bank teller and manager for Somerset Savings Bank, Flemington, retiring in 1992.

Formerly an active volunteer with the Flemington Food Pantry and with the Hunterdon County Cancer Society, she was a loving and doting grandmother to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Her husband, Kenneth Sutphin, died in 1974.

Surviving are two sons, Kenneth G. Sutphin of Raritan Township and Frank Sutphin of Frenchtown; two daughters, Barbara Mann of Frenchtown and Patricia Schottman of Raritan Township; a brother, Chet Frankenfield of Palo Alto, Calif.; four sisters, Jeanne Shirk of Bradenton, Fla. and Pearl Tange, Jane Gordon and Esther Carver, all of Milford; 10 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Services: Funeral services Thursday, Oct. 14, 11 a.m. in the Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main St., Flemington Interment in Prospect Hill Cemetery, Flemington. Calling hours Wednesday, Oct. 13, 7-9 p.m. in the funeral home.
