Schaffner, Md., who died September 5, 1967. Born on May 28, 1921 in Philadelphia, she was a daughter of the late Rev. Dr. Phares and Edith (Moyer) Beer. Ruth was a long-time resident of Paradise Falls Lutheran Association, having spent summers there since her childhood and moving permanently in 1967 from Huntingdon Valley. A graduate of William Allen High School, Allentown and Susquehanna University, Selinsgrove, she worked in the billing department of Pocono Medical Center and then for Home Health Care, Stroudsburg. She also provided private home health care for many years. Ruth was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, Tannersville.

Survivors: She is survived by a daughter, Sarah, wife of Rev. Lee Berry, of Yellowknife, Northwest Territories, Canada; a grandson, David Berry, of San Diego, Calif.; a sister, Helen Hendricks of Allentown; several nieces, nephews. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Edith Hertza.

Services in St. Paul Lutheran Church, Tannersville, with the Rev. Dr. Thomas E. Richards Jr. officiating. Burial will follow in Whitemarsh Memorial Park, Ambler. Arrangements are under the direction of the William H. Clark Funeral Home, Stroudsburg.
