Leona M. Nonamaker, 85, of Parkersburg passed away May 30, 2010, at St. Joseph Hospital.

She was born in Wood County on Nov. 25, 1924, a daughter of the late Harry Bailey and Susan Jane Taylor Bailey.

She was a homemaker and had worked at Camden-Clark Memorial Hospital. She was a member of the 36th Street Church of Christ in Vienna. She had been active in Girl Scouting as a scout leader for many years. She loved gardening and camping. She was a very loving, caring and devoted mother and grandmother lovingly named "Mam" by her family, friends, and neighbors. She was always ready to help anyone in need.

Surviving are four sons, Daryl L. "Bud" (Brenda) Nonamaker, Ronald (Sharon) Nonamaker, Donald (Barbara) Nonamaker, and James Nonamaker, all of Vienna; two daughters, Joyce (Harold) Young of Groveport, Ohio, and Frances (Jim) Arthur of Parkersburg; 12 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and "Missy", her faithful Yorkie companion.

She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Daryl E. Nonamaker; one grandson, Adam Arthur; two brothers, Woodrow Bailey and Harry Bailey Jr.; four sisters, Velva Davis, Nellie Foggin, Thelma Lipps, and Velma Lipps.

Services will be 3 p.m. Wednesday at Leavitt Funeral Home, Parkersburg, with Minister Mark Mason and Reverend Jon Lands officiating. Burial at Evergreen North Cemetery. Visitation is from 3-8 p.m. today.

The Nonamaker family wants to express their appreciation to all of Leona's caregivers for their care and support.

PARKERSBURG - Adam Quentin Arthur, 17, of Scenic Hills Drive, Parkersburg, died Feb. 17, 2004.

He was born Aug. 6, 1986, in Parkersburg, a son of James Q. and Frances M. Arthur of Parkersburg. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Daryl E. Nonamaker.

Adam was a senior at Parkersburg High School and planned on attending college in the fall. His hobbies were ATV riding, NASCAR, dirt track racing and restoring his Classic 66 Mustang. He enjoyed spending time with his grandparents at their Charleston riverside camp as well as spending time with his family and friends.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by a sister, Amy M. Arthur of Vienna; two brothers and a sister-in-law, Rick Perkins of Parkersburg, Tony and Angie Perkins of Rockport; maternal grandmother, Leona M. Nonamaker of Vienna; paternal grandparents, Quentin E. and Anna Mae Arthur of Charleston; nephew, Nathan; niece, Allie; uncles, William E., Richard A. and John C. Arthur, all of Charleston, Daryl ?Bud,? Ronald, Donald and James Nonamaker, all of Vienna; aunts, Mary Ann Sturry of Charleston, Joyce Young of Columbus, Ohio; and many cousins.

Service will be 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 21, at Fellowship Baptist Church, 46th Street, Vienna, with Pastor Jon Lands officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery North.

The family honored Adam's wishes and permitted organ and tissue donations so that others may have the gift of life and responds, "Since you'll never be forgotten, we pledge to you today a hallowed place within our hearts is where you'll always stay"

Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m. Friday at Leavitt Funeral Home, Parkersburg.
