Ira Duran passed away Wednesday evening about 6 o'clock at his home. He had been a patient at Illini hospital after suffering a stroke some time ago, but had returned home and seemed to be making a satisfactory recovery, but he died suddenly, without much pain.

The body was taken to the Ward funeral home in Pleasant Hill. Funeral services were held Friday morning at the Rockport Methodist church. Burial was in Taylor-Martin cemetery near El Dara.

Our community extends sympathy to his wife, Esther.

IraAna Duran, 78, of Rockport, a retired plumber and former resident of Pittsfield, died Wednesday night at 6:30 in his home, He had been ill for some time.

Funeral services will be Friday morning at 11 in the Methodist church with the Rev, Dean Benton officiating, Burial will be in the Taylor-Martin cemetery near El Dara.

Mr. Duran was born at Pittsfield, July 1, 1885, a son of William and Lucretia Cassity Duran. He was a member of the Pentecostal church. On Nov. 21, 1962, he was married to Mrs. Esther McCallister who survives.

Surviving with the widow, are a daughter, Mrs. Bertha Smith of Quincy: a sister, Mrs. Irma Simpson of Hannibal, Mo., and two granchildren.
