Mrs. Olive Rose, 87, Dies In Her Sleep
Mrs. Olive Rose, life long resident of this community, was found dead in bedThursday morning at the home of her son Allen and familly. Mrs. Rose had been living with her daughter, Mrs. Mary Toland, but had gone to Allen's home for a few days as Mrs. Toland had planned to be away. She had enjoyed remarkably good health for one of her years, having pased her 87th birthday last June.
She spent three months last summer in Lewiston, Idaho, returnng home with her daughter Mrs, Ruby Adams, who was here for a visit. She loved to travel and was always ready to go for a car ride or a days outing with any of her family or friends. The day before her death she had complained of a slight pain in her abdomen, but was up and about the house all day.
Rosa Olive Rose , daughter of Moses and Mary Jane Rayburn Duran, was born near Pleasant Grove June 7, 1866. On Nov. 6, 1884 she was united in marriage with James Allen Rose and together they trod life's journey, sharing its joys and sorrows for 56 years, until death parted them, taking the husband 14 years ago. They celebrated their golden wedding anniversay together on Nov. 6, 1934.
Early in life she was converted and joined the Baptist Church. Surviving are four daughters: Mrs Edna Westlake and Mrs. Mary Toland of Pittsfield, Mrs.Pearl Statler of St. Louis, Mo., and Ruby, Mrs. Lloyd Adams of Lewiston, Idaho, and two sons, Daniel and Allen both of Pittsfield. She also leaves 26 grandchildren and 28 great grandchildren, and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were conducted Sunday afternoon at the Plattner Chapel by Rev. J. T. Stewart of the Baptist Church. Mrs. Eva Welnant sang two songs accompanied by Mrs. Irene Stone. Burial was in Pleasant Grove Cemetery. Six grandsons served as pallbearers; Paul Allen Rose, Gene Rose, Gail Rose, Loyd Toland, Joe Westlake and Eugene Statler. Burial was at Pleasant Grove cemetery.
