He has been continually surrounded by his loving family during this transitional time. Memorial service will be Monday, January 16, 2012 at 10:00 AM, West Court Street Church of God, 2920 West Court St., Flint. Wesley was born to James and Florence (Pearson) Kerbyson in Decker, MI. After service in the US Navy, he married LaVera Nichol on September 5, 1948. He worked at the Buick Motor Division for 30 years and then enjoyed nearly 32 years of retirement in Tucson, AZ. Wesley was a good and faithful servant having given his heart to the Lord in 1956 and leading his family on God's path. He served in many capacities in God's church and strove to always show the love of Jesus to everyone he met. Wes was a hard worker with a creative mind and many natural abilities. He loved his family and sharing the joy of traveling with them. He loved and enjoyed romping about with the children in his life. Cherishing his memory are his wife of more than 63 years, LaVera; his daughters, Marsha Ramsey, Marlene (Ron) Kosha, Lois St. John and his grandchildren, Krista David, (Stefanie), Steven, Jonathan and Brandon (Jamie). BUBEN, MRS. BETTY M. Mrs. Betty Mae Kerbyson Buben, age 80, widow of Mike Buben, and a resident of Zimmerman Road in Hampshire, TN passed away on Wednesday, June 6th at Maury Regional Medical Center. A private Memorial Service will be held by the family at a later date. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family and in charge of the arrangements. Betty was a native of Flint, Michigan, and the daughter of the late Richard James Kerbyson and the late Nettie Mae Groombridge. She was a member of the Community in Christ Church in Clio, MI, VFW and Eastern Star, and Co-Leader of the Girl Scouts. Some of her hobbies included traveling and crocheting. She had visited all 50 states. Her and Mike had also traveled to foreign countries, including South America, Africa, China, the Middle East, England, Europe, Canada, Germany, Poland, Italy, Mexico, Japan, Russia, and Australia. She especially treasured flowers and antiques. Betty was a wonderful wife, mother, and grandmother that will truly be missed by all who knew her. Mrs. Buben left behind to cherish her memory two children, Diana Burr of Hampshire, TN and Michael (Victoria) Buben of Butte, MT; one granddaughter, Andrea (Chaz) Shabdue of Hampshire, TN; three grandsons, Ryan (Jamie) Brown of Hampshire, TN, Jon (Keri) Buben, and Zachary Buben both of Missoula, MT; seven great grandchildren, Austin Blade, Xavier Buben, Neeko Shabdue, Dierks Brown, Therin Brown, Aeris Buben, and Zarek Buben; brother, Harold (Sylvia) Kerbyson of Flushing, MI; sister, Evelyn Thomas of Flint, MI; several nieces and nephews, and a host of other family members. The plane crashed on landing and Freda was there to watch as her husband's plane exploded . A horrible experience for a young newly married girl.
ALGONAC Reverend Freda Mae Norcross, 82, of Algonac, was Promoted To Glory on Saturday, July 28, 2007.
She was born September 19, 1924 in Corinth, Ontario to the late Delmer and Rebecca Pearson. She married Reverend T. Kenneth Norcross on September 17, 1948 in Tillsonburg, Ontario.
Mrs. Norcross was a licensed minister with the Assemblies of God Church for 44 years, retiring in 1993. She attended Eastern Pentecostal Bible College in Toronto and was licensed by the Pentecostal Assemblies of Canada in 1949 and transferred in 1955 to the Assemblies of God Church, USA. She became a U.S. citizen on June 15, 1964.
She is survived by her husband, Kenneth; a son, Reverend and Mrs. Kenneth (Ginny) Norcross of Sandusky; four grandchildren, Katherine, Robert, Mary and David Norcross; a brother, Mr. and Mrs. Wilfred (Pat) Pearson of Tillsonburg, Ontario; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a brother, Jack Pearson. Visitation will be 7-9 p.m. on Monday and 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. on Tuesday in Pollock-Randall Funeral Home. Mrs. Norcross will lie in state from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday in the Starville Church, 7436 Starville Road, Cottrellville Township. The Reverend Ronald E. Stevens will officiate. Burial will be in Oaklawn Cemetery, Algonac. Pallbearers will be Robert, Katherine, Mary and David Norcross, Wilfred Pearson and Bob Curle.
