A resident of this city for many years passed away shortly after one o'clock on Tuesday when Mrs. Elizabeth Leffingwell breathed her last. For years she has been an invalid and for months the possibility of death was constantly with her, a situation she faced and endured bravely. Her maiden name was Elizabeth Wintermute and she was born on October 21st in Sussex, N. Y. In 1846 her father, Septer Wintermute, moved to Wisconsin and locating at Whitewater, built a hotel here. She married eleven years later to Harry C. Leffingwell, who passed away in 1889. She is survived by her son, H. C. Leffingwell, Jr., and her sister, Mrs. Helen Sprague. Her three brothers, James, Frank, and Peter, known well to Whitewater citizens, of a former generation, have all gone before. The funeral, which will be held at three o'clock this afternoon, will be conducted by Rev. E. C. Barnard.
