Honored Citizen Dies - S. W. Snell, who for the past three years has resided on a ten acre tract just west of town, died at his home Wednesday evening at 7:00 O'Clock./ The cause of his death was die to an operation for rupture, which was performed last Sunday, and from which he gradually grew worse until his death./ Mr. Snell was one of our most respected citizens and loved by those who knew him well./ Funeral services were held at the cemetery near Headrick, Thursday evening.

Snell, Margaret Wintermote, daughter of John Wintermote, was born May the 24th 1792 in Sussex Co., New Jersey was married to Wm. W. Brown in 1811 and in 1816 moved to Fairfield, Green Co, Ohio. When her husband died in 1817 she with her three small chilren moved to Darke County and settled in Washington Township. In 1829 she was again maried to John Snell and continued to live in Darke County until June 1839 when she and her family moved to St. Claire Co. Mo. Here her second husband died, and in 1845 her son (H.M. Brown of Dayton, O.) brought her and her children back to Dayton where she lived sone time, when she again returned to Darke County and settled in Colesville, where she died April 23rd 1875, aged 82 years, 10 months and 30 days. Funeral sermon by Eld. H. Cole, after which her remains were buried in the Graveyard by the side of her father and 3 sisters. She had been a member of the Christian Church more than 20 years.
