Eugene D. Friday, 90, of Kingston, Michigan, passed away Wednesday, September, 19, 2007 at the Covenant Medical Center- Harrison in Saginaw, Michigan. He had lived in the Koylton Twp. area since 1971.
He was born October 14, 1916 in Silverwood, MI, son to the late Melvin and Ethel (Snover) Friday.
He married Leta Sarles on December 14, 1940 in Mayville. She preceded him in death on February 5, 2007.
He served his country in the U.S. Army during WWII.
He was a long time member of the Silverwood United Methodist Church where he was very active, also he was a member of the I.O.O.F. in Clifford, Mayville VFW, Veteran?s of Foreign Wars and N.R.A.
He worked as a welder for General Coach and Bendix Corporation in Marlette for many years. He also farmed and worked at Trapper Jim?s Hunt Club.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing, traveling, outdoors and, most of all, his family and friends.
He is survived by Ken and Betty Friday (son) of Luzerne, MI, Allen and Carol Friday (son) of Mayville, MI, Lila Draper (daughter) of Marlette, MI, Rodney and Brenda Friday (son) of Kingston, MI, Martha and Russell Sarles (sister) of Clifford, MI, 11 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife and brother, Jay. Funeral services were conducted Saturday, September 22, 2007 at 1:00 pm in the Silverwood United Methodist Church, with Rev. Ronald Hutchinson officiating. Burial was in the Rich Twp. Cemetery in Mayville with full military honors. Memorials may be donated to the family.
