Delilah Smith was born on 30 September 1837 in Newton Township, Luzerne, Pennsylvania.1,2 She and George S. Snover were married on 15 October 1853.1 She died on 14 June 1909, at age 71, in Iowa.1,3 She was buried in Edgewood Cemetery, Edgewood, Delaware, Iowa.3

My guess is that this somewhat illegible "Mother" stone next to George Stover is hers.

Delilah A. Smith was born in Scranton, Pennsylvania, September 2, 1836, and died at the home of her son George in Kanaranzi, Minnesota, Monday morning, June 14, 1909, at 9:45 o"clock after a lingering illness.

She was married to George S. Snover in 1852 and in 1856 she, in company with her husband, left Scranton for the western country, settling near Edgewood, Iowa. Mr. Snover died on January 17, 1881, at his home five miles southwest of this place. Mrs. Snover united with the United Brethren church while in Edgewood and remained a faithful member of same until its Head called her to the church triumphant.

In 1897 she left Edgewood and returned to Scrantonn where she suffered a stroke of paralysis the following year. She was tenderly cared for by her daughter until the death of the latter which occurred on the 18 th day of January 1909. Mrs. Snover then returned west and went to make her home with her son George as stated above, where she passed away. She was the mother of eight children, six of whom waited her on the other shore. Two sons, George and Will, and one sister, Mrs. Jane Rosenkrans, and one sister-in-law, Mrs. Alvina Smith, are left to mourn her death.

The funeral services were held in the Methodist church at this place on June 16, 1909, conducted by Rev. Frank Frizzell. The remains were renderly laid to rest in the cemetery southeast of this place.

Sarah Alice Witters was born in January 1859 in Illinois.1,2 She and Phillip Henry Snover were married about 1877 in Illinois.1,2 She died on 2 May 1946, at age 87, in Tacoma, Pierce, Washington.1,3,4 She was buried in Fairview Cemetery, Camp Crook, Harding, South Dakota.4
