Biography

Stephen Wilson Bull was born on 31 May 1845 in Rome Township, Bradford, Pennsylvania.1,2,3 He and Sarah Imogene Snover were married on 24 January 1871 in Rome, Bradford, Pennsylvania.1 He died on 25 August 1894, at age 49, in Mansfield, Tioga, Pennsylvania.1,3 He was buried in Oakwood Cemetery (Section 3a 519), Mansfield, Tioga, Pennsylvania.3
Stephen Wilson Bull was a Farmer.2 Mr. Stephen W. Bull died at his home in this boro at 1 o'clock last Friday morning, aged 49 years, 2 months and 24 days.

Mr. Bull was the second son of William E. and Fanny Bull. He was born in Wysox township, Bradford county, Pa., May 31, 1845, and there resided until his twenty second year when he enterred the employ of Mrs, U.S.Snover at Myersburg, as an apprentice to thlifee wagon maker's trade. With the exception of seven years which he spent upon a farm, this relaton continued until his last illness. In 1867 he was united in marriage with his employer's daughter, Miss Imogene Snover, who survives him. Some twenty three years later Mr. Bull received the sacrament of baptism in Wyalusing at the hands of Elder Bailey Deans. The religious life thus began continued to the end of his earthly career, so that when the last great change seemed immenent he appeared both ready and willing to go. He also early in life identifed himself with the society of Masons, and was elected by his brethren of that fraternity to the highest offices in the lodge. He had been a sufferer from early boyhood from a bronchial trouble which greatly impaired his health. It is said of him that he worked day after day uncomplaining at his bench to support his family when he had barely strengh to walk home after his hours of toil were over. He loved his wife and children and found in their society his greatest enjoyment. In short he was one of whom it may be truthfully said, he was a good man.

Besides his wife he leaves six children, William S., George S., Edith, Earest, Marion and Elwin Bull. The eldest 23 and the youngest 9. His was the first death in his father's family. While his parents, aged respecively 81 and 75 years, were not able to be present at their son's funeral, all of his brothers and sisters were permitted to particpate in the last rites which were conducted by the Rev. U.A. White of Covington and consisted of prayer at the house followed by services at the Baptist church beginning at 2 o'clock Monday afternoon.

He was buried with the honors of a Mason; the interment being in Oakwood cemetery.
