Died:
19 February 1911 in his 75th year, of paralysis, at his home in Corinth, Bayham Township, Ontario. His obit lists survivors, wife, sons John and Adolph of St. Thomas. 4 brothers David, Phillip, William and George, and sisters Mrs. Johnson and Mrs. Haines. Member of the Methodist Church. His wife Mary was born 16 April 1843 (ref 1901 census), died 1924 and was buried in Best Cemetery (OGS Cemetery online records).

3. Warren Wintermute, born about 1865 (ref 1871 census and 1881 census), also known as George W. Wintermute.
4. Anna J. Wintermute, born about 1868 (ref 1871 census), her name not recognized by family members so may have died young. Not with the family in the 1881 census and did not survive her father in 1911).
5. Walker Adolphus Wintermute, born 4 June 1879 (ref 1901 census).
Thomas lived on the lot west of the Methodist Church in Corinth, Bayham Township, Elgin County. He attended the Methodist Church. When he married he gave his residence as Dereham Township.
He was shown in the 1871 Bayham census, division 4, page 55 as follows, Wintermute, Thomas, age 35, Labourer, Wesleyan Methodist, Mary A. age 28, Mary E. age 12, John age 9, Warran age 6, Anna J. age 3 and Elizabeth age 15 (family member?? who was she?).
He was listed next to Thomas Firby who was a farmer. On the 1864 Tremaine map of Elgin County, Thomas Firby is shown on Lot 4, Concession 8 and the South 1/2 of Lot 3, Concession 9, Bayham.
The 1881 Bayham census lists Thomas Wintermute, age 44, labourer, wife May age 37, Mary E. age 22, John S. age 18, Warren age 16 and Walker O. age 1.
The 1891 census record of Bayham shows Thomas Wintermute, age 54, farmer, Methodist, with wife Mary Ann, age 47, Walker A, age 11.
The 1901 census record for Malahide Township lists Thomas Wintermute, born 13 June 1836, wife Mary Ann, born 16 April 1853, son Walker A. Wintermute, born 4 June 1879.
