WINTERMTE-On Wednesday morning, Sept. 23, 1953, at his home, 276 Saskatoon street, London, Ont., Perry Wintermute, formerly of St. Thomas, husband of Mrs. Florence (Johnston) Wintermute, London, Ont.: father of Miss Lois, Victoria, B.C., and Mrs C.R. De Mille, London, Ont., brother of Camby Wintermute, Port Arthur, Mrs.Florence Daley in California, Mrs. Ila Gregson and Mrs Ola Howell, both in Saskatchewan, and Miss Minnie Howe in Montana; grandfather of Gerald and Lynn De Mille, London, Ont.; suddenly in his 67th year.
Resting at the Jas H. Barnum funeral Home, Alymer, funeral service there Friday at 2 p.m. Arrangements incomplete.
Perry Wintermute Passes in London
Perry Wintermute, for about seven months a resident of St. Thomas prior to moving to London, Ont., half a year ago, died suddently at his home, there 276 Saskatoon street, on Wednesday Morning. His deth was unexpected though he had been in ailing Health for about six years. While here he was emlpoyed by Harold Clark, the auctioneer.
Mr. Wintermute was a native of Corinth and a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Warren Wintermute. Though he had not resided in that district for many years he retained membership in St. John's Uniited Church, Springfield.
A veteran of World War I service overseas, he belonged to the 5th Canadian Battalion, C.E.F. from Saskatchewan. Thereafter he lived in Nova Scotia for many years and was a butcher. He was a member of the Truro, N.S. branch of the Canadian Legion.
Surviving are his wife, the former Florence Johnston, and two daughters, Miss Lois Wintermute of Victoria B.C. and Mrs. C.R. De MIlle of London, Ont..; also one brother, Camby, Port Arthur and four sisters, Mrs. Florence Daley in California, Mrs. Ila Gregson and Mrs.Ola Howell, both in Saskatchewan, and Miss Minnie Howe in Montana; and two grand chilldren, Gerald and Lynn De Mille of London, Ont.
The remains are resting at the James H. Barnum funeral home, Aylmer, and the funeral service will be held there on Friday at two p.m. Arrangements are incomplete.

1st on 17 July 1901 * [this is contradicted by the below marriage record] at Corinth (ref. Rev. Duff) to Esther Winnie Austin, daughter of Philip and Emmeline Austin of Norfolk County. She was born 1873 and died 21 June 1951 after a long illness at the Memorial Hospital, St. Thomas, buried Elmdale Cemetery, St. Thomas.

1. Beulah Winnifred Wintermute, born 12 June 1911, at St. Thomas.
2nd to Mary ? who died December 1957 (they were living at Ridgetown, Kent County at the time).
Died: 19 March 1962 at St. Thomas Elgin Hospital, St. Thomas, after a period of time in the Thomas Williams Nursing home on Walnut Street, St. Thomas (the last of the family)
Buried: Elmdale Cemetery, St. Thomas, Section “E”.
Listed in 1901 census records of Malahide Township as Walker A. Wintermute, born 4 June 1879, and was listed with parents Thomas and Mary Ann.
Dolph went to St. Thomas in 1907 and worked for Col. W.J. Green for many years and later as a carpenter for CNR Bridge Dept. He was living in St. Thomas in 1911 when his father died and went by the name of "Adolph
He spent some 10 years in Windsor returning about 1920, he lived on Woodworth Ave St. Thomas.
In 1951 he lived at 14 Cruise Street. After 1951 he remarried to Mary ? and lived in Ridgetown until 1958-59. In St Thomas he was a member of Centre Street Baptist Church, was on the Board of Management and sang in choir.
