Funeral services were Monday afternoon at the Vogt Funeral Home for Elmer J. Simons, who died Friday afternoon at the Ingham County Rehabilitation center following a long sickness.

Elmer Simons was born in Dansville June 26, 1890. He was one of 3 children born to Chancey and Ellen Simons, Practically all his life ws lived in Dansville.

On February 14, 1914, he was united in marriage to Edith Bagley of Tawas City. They had 10 children, one passing away in infancy. Those surviving are Donald Simons, Dean Simons, Douglas Simons, Mrs. Keith Gunthorpe, Miss Maxine Simons and Dale Simons, all of Lansing, Mrs. Annie Alchin of Williamston, Mrs. June Mead of Springport and Elmer, Jr., at home. Also surviving are the wife, Edith, 26 grandchildren, 2 sisters, Mrs. Allie Raymond of Ypsilanti amd Mrs. Carrie LaFountain of Lansing.

Rev.Robert Brubaker, pastor of the Methodist church, officated at the services with burial in Fairview cemetery. Pallbearers were Ralph Gunthorpe, Allan Foy, Don Simon, Allan Cummongs, chester Hegelmo of Lansing and Charles Wood of Dansville.
