E. Oleine (Heavener) Sherratt 98, of Lansdale, passed away October 24, 2011 at Elm Terrace Gardens, Lansdale. She was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Russell N. Sherratt who died in 1987. Born September 21, 1913 in Mongomeryville, Oliene was the last surviving of thirteen children born to William and Amy (Bryant) Heavener. Mrs. Sherratt was a graduate of the former Lansdale High School, Class of 1932. In her younger years, Oliene baked delicious pies for the "202 Diner" on Route 309. Later in life, she worked at the Quality Paints store as a secretary. Mrs. Sherratt l;oved watching her soaps and playing cards with her friends.. She was a devoted member of the Montgomery Square United Methodist Church for over 50 years. Oleine is survived by three children, Howard A. Sherratt (JoAnn) of North Wales, James R. Sherratt (Sally) of Canadensis and Ronald H. Sherratt (Diane) of Langhorne; eight beloved grandchildren, Brenda Groff (Gary) of Colmar, Jo Ellen Keeler (R. Rae) of Harleysville, Kelly Toth (James) of Flemington, NJ, Kimberly Coyne (John) of Lansdale, Kristin Migliaccio of Harleysville, James Sherratt (Brenda Reinard) of Lansdale, Lori L'Heureux (Jerry) of Gloucester, VA, and Ronald R. Sherratt (Tara) of Croydon; eleven great-grandchildren; six great-great grandchildren; two step-great-grandchildren; and five step-great-great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband, Oliene was preceded in death by a grandson, Peter Sherratt, who died in 1991, and her twelve siblings. A viewing will be held 9 a.m. Friday, October 28 at Montgomery Square United Methodist Church, 1900 County Line Road, North Wales.

Ethel H. Reese, 83 of Route 309, Montgomeryville, died Thursday noon at North Penn Hospital after a brief illness. She had lived in Montgomeryville since 1958 and was formerly of Mahanoy City, Pa. and Crum Lynne, Pa.
Born in Bucks County, she was the daughter of the late William and Amy Bryant Heavener. She was the widow of Richard Reese who died un 1953.
She was of the Protestant faith.
Surviving are a son, Thomas L. Sr., of Aston, Pa., two daughters, Harriett Kulesa of Ringtown, Pa., and Elizabeth Wilda, wife of John Wertz of Mahanoy City, Pa.; 11 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; three brothers, Stanley Heavener of Montgomeryville, with whom she resided, Roscoe of Colmar, and Claude of Lansdale; seven sisters, Oliene, wife of Russell Sherratt, of Montgomeryville, Wilda Casey of Norristown, Florence Goodolf of Hatfield, Erma Kleppinger of Easton, Elva Winkler of Quakertown, Frances Manherz of Missouri, and Sally, wife of William Moore, of Honesdale, Pa.

Former Lansdale Resident Suffered From Heart Ailment

Richard Reese, formerly of Lansdale, died yesterday at his home at Crum Lynn. He was sixty years old, and suffered a heart condition for several years. although he continued active.
Mr. Reese was employed by the Chamberlin Company of America, which is located near his home. He lived in Lansdale up to about twenty years ago, when he moved to Mahoney city, and then, later, to Crum Lynn.
He is survived by his widow, the former Ethel Heavener, of Montgomeryville, and three children, Mrs. Woodrow Williamson, Mrs. Edward Hulesa and Mrs. John Wertz, all of Mahoney City and Llewellyn, of Eddystone. Brothers and a sister who survive are: John, Hatfield township; Thomas R., Delano, Pa., James. Lansdale; Howard, Lansdale; William, Lansdale, and Mrs. Charles Nice, of Lansdale.
Funeral arrangements have not yet been completed.
